First Steps in Chess

In this 10-week course, students will learn and practice the very fundamentals of chess. It assumes no knowledge of the game and its number one goal is to make beginners love chess.

Topics to be covered:

1. Introduction
2. How the pieces move
3. Checkmate with King & Queen
4. Checkmate with two Rooks
5. Basic checkmate patterns
6. Stalemate

The course starts with the basic rules of the game. The students will learn many interesting facts and stories about chess. Its aim is to make beginners ready for the later, more advanced education of chess. So, the first factor is how they feel about chess. This course's aim is to give a strong and concrete start to the learners' chess education and let them love chess.
