Armenian literary tradition has a history of centuries. Literature has always been a defining component of Armenian identity. Numerous traditions, historic events, national values, and many other characteristics of the Armenian nation are encompassed in its literary heritage. This course aims to provide an in-depth overview of the most valuable and discussed literary pieces of Armenian literature. The course suggests a critical and analytical approach to well-known poems, novels, and short stories. A special emphasis will be given to the new generation of writers in independent Armenia.
